11/13/13: The 2013 ASCS Awards Banquet was a success! A good time was had by all, sharing stories of this past season and looking forward to 2014!

10/1/13: American Super Cups racing Series gained a new partner in 2013 – Pajeda’s  Not only were they a partner of the #33 Andy Forster racing machine they were a sponsor of the Hard Charger award for the series.  Pajeda’s was a great partner to have at the track this season.  Not only were they well represented at the track during the races, they were also very well liked after the races and at any event that our series participated at.  From the start of the season they have supplied awesome munchies to be distributed to the fans and potential customers.  Parades, shows, meetings and wherever the cars showed up new customers were created. Please check out the website for additional information about a great series partner.  www.pajedas.com

Congratulations to the 2013 Pajeda's Hard Charger. Erle Hoth passed the most cars this year, continually moving through traffic to salvage many top 3 finishes along with a few wins! It's never easy getting through the field of so many fast cars but Erle managed to do just that... So again a round of applause and congratulations to Erle Hoth, your 2013 Pajeda's Hard Charger. Also would like to point out that Brian Baldyga and Ken Jones rounded out the top 3 respectively.

Thanks to Pajeda’s and #33 Andy Forster for your support!

9/9/13: 2013 Racing Season comes to a close with closest finish in Super Cup history.
The super cups have been in the Midwest for nearly 15 years and have always produced awesome racing at tracks.  This season the American Super Cups Series has raced at Rockford Speedway, Slinger Speedway, Dells Raceway Park, Golden Sands Speedway, La Crosse Speedway and Indianapolis Speedrome.  These are paved ¼ mile and 3/8 mile tracks that are flat to 33 degree banking. Racing included two heat races every night of 8-10 laps and features races of 20-30 laps. The drivers in this series started racing in April and completed the season Sunday night at Slinger Speedway.  Going into the final, 4 drivers still had a chance to win the championship.

Brian Baldyga raced to the last quarter point’s lead during the season only to have it snatched away by Ken Jones in Indianapolis going into the final race.  When the racing started Jones had a slim two point lead over Baldyga, 5 points over Erle Hoth and 10 over Mick Ellis.  Slinger Speedway hosted our Championship for the past few years and all the drivers were ready to attack the ¼ mile oval.  Mother Nature had other ideas although and made it difficult.  While they were able to get practice in qualifying was eliminated due to the light showers.  The field was then set on points and inverted.  Starting at the back the front runners had a big task in front of themselves.

The first heat saw Baldyga leap into the lead quickly and to lead much of the race he was followed closely by Ellis as they needed to obtain as many points as possible to stay within the championship point’s lead.  Greg Davis, Derek LeGros and Joel Schulz rounded out the top five.  The second heat saw the top drivers drive into the lead Hoth was able to hold off Jones, Steve Wilson who had been off for a few weeks make a fine return with a third place followed by Andy Forster and Nick LeGros.

The feature race saw the top drivers starting to the rear of the feature and would be required to work through the field.  Form the drop of the green flag all competitors challenged for each position. Hoth and Baldyga were able to make their way to the front by midway through the race and separated from the field by a few car lengths.  After a little rear of the field slight contact Jones was able to work his way up to the third place position after battling with Ellis and Wilson for a few laps.  Foster and Nick LeGros had some minor contact which resulted in Andy Spinning.  The final race results were Hoth, Baldyga, Jones, Ellis, Schutz, Forster, Davis, Derek LeGros, Steve Wilson and Nick LeGros rounding out the top ten positions.

After the conclusion of the race the points were tabulated and 1st place was a tie between Ken Jones and Brian Baldyga. The tie breaker is driver with the most 1st place wins which was Jones who had three and Baldyga had two.  Erle Hoth was a close third missing the cut by just two points.  Mick Ellis finished in fourth, Andy Forster fifth, Greg Davis sixth, Rookie of the year Nick LeGros seventh, Rookie - Derek LeGros eighth, David Cerer ninth, and Rookie Michael Fredricks in tenth.

For the past several years American Super Cup Series has demonstrated that a series can put on a fair and good racing series that lets the competitors battle throughout the year without incidents.  As we move onto the next season every effort will be made to improve on the best super cup racing in the country.

9/1/13: The American Super Cup Series displayed their entertaining close competition for the second time in 2013 this past Sunday night September 1st at the Ivy Tech Community College Indianapolis Speedrome®. There evening was presented by by RaceTalkRadio.com and Dave & Busters of Addison. After rain washed away Saturdays scheduled event, the focus turned to Sunday. Heat race victories were split by Lake Zurich, Illinois's Andy Forster and Lombard, Illinois's Ken Jones. The 25-lap feature was a thriller as positions swapped on a feverish pace with drivers jockeying for clean air and track position. The treasured position was finally claimed in concrete by Jones who also won the event back on June 8th. Ken took the victory this time as well besting Erle Hoth, Brian Baldyga, Bryce Whitson, and Forster.

8/22/13 - The American Super Cup Racing Series made its final visit to the Rockford Speedway ¼ mile oval for 2013.  As the season is winding down the point’s race has narrowed.  The night was unusually cool for a Mid Summers night which led to some fast, close racing. The J&J Powder Coating 25 race started with always quick Erle Hoth taking the fast time followed by points leader Brian Baldyga and Andy Forster who captured his first qualifying point of the year.

The first heat race had Mick Ellis on the pole but it was Andy on the high side that was able to hold the high line and pull Erle into the top two positions. Mick was able to hang on as the three battled for position until the last turn and the drivers made the track three wide on the last turn to thrill the race fans.  Greg Davis and Mike Fredricks rounded out the top five.  Andy was able to celebrate in victory lane on a special night that was to honor his friend Scott Blazer.  Andy had invested many hours to raise proceeds from ticket sales that would go to the college fund of Justin and Sierra Blazer.

The second heat race had Ken Jones and Brian Baldyga jump to an early lead and duel for the entire race. Ken pulled out the victory and followed by the father and son Team Legros and Bryce Pancratz.

In the feature Mick took the field to the green again and dueled with Ken.  Ken was able to pull into the lead followed by Erle.  Erle wanted the lead and took advantage early and never looked back until later in the race.  Ken, Mick, Andy and Brian caught Erle when lapped traffic bunched the group up and made for an exciting finish.  They stayed in that order but tight out of turn four for the checkered flag.  Andy and Brian made contact out of turn four and Brian crossed the finish line backwards for fifth spot. Sixth through 10th saw Bryce, Greg, Nick, Derek and Mike.

ASCS will head to the flat track of the Indianapolis Speedrome for a back to back night on the flat track over Labor Day weekend,  August 31 and September 1st.  Championship and Rookie battles will come down to our final race at Slinger Speedway on September 8th. Safe travels over Labor Day weekend and we will see you at the track.

8/14/13 - The season is winding down with only a few races remaining.  This Saturday Night August 17th we will be racing at 7:07 for the final race at Rockford Speedway for the 2013 season.  This should be a great night of racing action. The J&J Powder Coating 25 Race is a night of racing devoted to Scott Blazier.  Rockford Speedway and American Super Cup Racing will be raising money from ticket sales to go into a college fund of Justin and Sierra Blazier.   Thank you to all that were able to contribute.

The next scheduled event will be the Back to Back race at the flat track of the Indianapolis Speedrome over Labor Day weekend.  With a quick turnaround the championship will be decided at Slinger Speedway on September 8th.  With 5 different winners so far this season and close points battles the final races should be very exciting.

Speaking about past season.  We have cleared up our final results from the Dell’s race after encountering a few problems with the transponder system.  The weather could not be better for a summer August night.  The drivers had practiced and qualified finding Cody Erdmann on the pole with David Cerer and Brian Baldyga taking the top three positions.

When the green flag flew in the first heat Andy Forster had the pole position and was quickly under fire.  Brian worked his way to the top position followed by a charging Cody, Erle Hoth, Andy and the Father/Son team of Derek and Nick Legros rounding out the top 6.

The second heat Mick Ellis led the drivers to the starting line only to be pressured by Ken Jones and David Cerer. Dave made it to the front and led a good portion of the heat to only loose the last corner when Ken dove to the bottom of the track and Dave slid up.  This gave the win to Ken who was followed by Dave, Mick, Michael Fredricks, Greg Davis and Wisconsin Dells raceway parks very own Speedy.

The 25 Lap GEM BUILDING CONTACTORS feature race did not disappoint.  The event went green the entire time as all the drivers battled in packs around the track.  The first pack of Cody, Brian and Mick were able to pull away and race for the lead. And finish 123.  Next came Erle, Ken, Dave and Andy in 4th through 7th.  Erle experienced a 1st lap spin which sent him to the back and Andy was having early lap mechanical issues that he was able to salvage a good finish.

7/9/13 - The American Super Cup Racing Series returned to Lacrosse Speedway for our only race on the ¼ mile oval this year.  As usual the fans were treated to a great night of racing as the season reached the middle of the season.  Our heat and feature race saw Nick Legros and Greg Davis leading the pack to the green flags. Pole sitter and runner up Ken Jones and Erle Hoth started in the rear of the field and quickly made moves through the field.  In the heat race Erle won the heat after some close battling with Ken Jones, followed by Series point leader Brian Baldyga, Mick Ellis, Greg and Nick who had their best finishes of the year.

In the Ultimate Motorsports feature race it was more of the same Erle led most of the race only to have Ken slip on by with a few laps to go for his second win of the season. Lacrosse is a great racing facility and after the race the fans poured from the stands into the pits to get a close look at the drivers and racing machines.  It's always a great time with the race fans, signing autographs, taking pictures and letting future drivers get a chance to sit in the racecars.

As usual, the ASCS racing is providing some of the closest racing on the track in in the standings. Every race counts and many drivers are challenging for position every week.  We have had four different feature race winners in six races.  Brian Baldyga is in the lead with 264 points, Ken Jones 261, Erle Hoth 261, Mick Ellis 251 and Andy Forster with 240 points rounding out the top 5 positions.   Our new breed of rookies are also doing a great job as Nick Legros  took over the Rookie of the year lead followed by his son Derek, Greg Harlow, Mike Fredricks and Joel Schulz.

With only six more races remaining the racing will continue in two weeks at our second visit to Slinger Speedway on July 21st. followed by Dells Raceway on August 3rd, Rockford Speedway, Memorial Race, August 17th, Double Header Labor Day Weekend  at the Indianapolis Speedrome August 31st and September 1st and season ending Championship back at Slinger Speedway September 8th.

If you are planning on attending the Rockford race please contact Andy Forster for tickets that will benefit the Scott Blaizer Memorial race.  Great chance to see a race and help a family.  More information will also be available on our website.

New and potential drivers now is the time to get your opportunity to get into a car.  Rental cars are available and used cars starting at $3,000.00 are out there for to get you started.  So get out of the stands and into a Super Cup Racecar.

6/22/13: American Super Cup Racing Series returned to Rockford Speedway for the Pajeda’s 25.  In the offseason Andy Forster joined in a partnership to make Pajeda’s a driver and race series sponsor. Pajeda’s night at Rockford Speedway quickly became a night to remember for all.  Pajeda’s race fans began the evening with a reserved section of the track in turn 3 and were treated to food and prerace events. They were able to catch practice and qualifying and were led into the pit area for a guided tour led by the Rockford’s famous Jimmy Ambruoso – long time track announcer, photographer and employee off the Rockford Speedway.

The night of racing began with the ASCS heat race which had the usual close racing fans have expected from the best Super Cup racing series in the country.  The close battles produced a win for Erle Hoth, a second place for Cody Erdmann, who is racing part-time with ASCS and a full size car at Slinger speedway, and race night favorite Andy Forster, in the Pajeda’s sponsored car, in 3rd.  The second heat race saw Brian Baldyga jump to an early lead pursued by David Cerer and Mick Ellis.  Brian was able to take the win for the heat.

The feature race was a good start except for the Andy Forster Pajeda’s car.  After the start Andy developed a mechanical problem and a few cars broke away.  Andy coasted to the infield and his night of racing was over.  The top three cars were able to pull away and separate from the group for a while.  As the race progressed the second pack of cars made an effort but ran out of laps to catch the leaders.  The top 4 crossed the line closely bunched together and winning his first race of the season was David Cerer, followed by Cody, Mick, Brian and Erle rounding out the top 5.

After the race Andy spent some time in the hospitality area with the large contingent of Pajeda’s employees and race fans then joined to other race fans in the pits to talk with drivers, take pictures and sit in the race cars in and the post-race celebration.

A huge THANK YOU to PAJEDA’S for joining our series as a Driver, race and hard charger sponsor.  We hope that you enjoyed the racing and see you at the track again soon. Thanks for your hard work Andy!

6/18/13: What an exciting event at the Milwaukee Mile Indy Fest for the ASCS! Indy car racing is making a comeback at the Mile and we are proud to be a small part of representing Midwest racing.

We arrived on Thursday morning to set up camp for the festivities.  Local favorite Super Cup Rookie (just down the street from the track) Mike Fredricks pulled into the turn two infield with his professional looking race machine.  This year the Mile infield had a family friendly atmosphere that enhanced the entire racing weekend.  You could enjoy the speed of the Indy cars, Indy lights and other on track racing while in between you observed displays of manufacturers, suppliers and sponsors of the racing. Free rides for the kids, music and pit crew tire changer contests were available all weekend. Don’t forget to mention the food and drink!

Over the weekend many drivers for ASCS manned the booth to promote Indyfest, Super Cup Racing, racetracks, sponsors and drivers.  The crowds of people flocked to the booth to check out the display.  We actually met race fans from as far away as Germany and England.  Of course many new local fans were at the track gathering information and asking questions.  To our surprise many we had met have seen us race and helped sell even more interest in our series which makes everything we do as a racing series worth the effort.

Many of us met up with super cup guest driver Peter Dempsy as he was competing in the Indy Lights race.  We handed out schedules and series information to all interested parties. Overall this was an awesome weekend and really look forward to next year.  Thanks to Andretti Sports Marketing for having us there!

6/8/13: Great weather and great racing were on tap at the Indianapolis Speedrome this past Saturday night. But 2012 Champion Ken Jones turned up the heat on points leader Brian Baldyga with the big sweep at the world famous 1/5 mile track.

Jones took the E3 Spark Plugs top qualifier award over a fast field of cars, beating out fast Erle Hoth for the first time this season. In the first heat race Mick Ellis took the win followed closely by Baldyga and Michigan native Greg Harlow. Jones would grab his second award by winning the second heat race.

In the feature race, Erle Hoth took the early lead and started to pull from the pack, but Ken Jones ran him down and eventually got a nose under him to take the lead. In the meantime, the next 5 cars of Baldyga, Ellis, Andy Forster, Harlow and Greg Davis battled in a tight pack, jockeying for position. Jones completed his sweep for the win,  Baldyga second and Ellis third.

This weekend the American Super Cups will have a car on display in the Family Fun area of the Milwaukee Indy Fest, in support of the Indy car race weekend. We will be cheering on Indianapolis winner and ASCS friend Peter Dempsey as he goes for back to back Indy Lights wins, just before the Izod Indy Car race. The Super Cup car will be available for kids to jump in and get their photos taken to make their visit to the Milwaukee Mile race weekend even more special. We hope to see you there this Thursday through Saturday!

Next Super Cup race day will be June 22nd at Rockford Speedway.

5/27/13: BIGGINS American Super Cup Weekend at Golden Sands!
This Memorial Day weekend gave us the privilege to salute current and past servicemen and women for the courage and sacrifices they provided for us at home. Without them we could not enjoy life as we know it. THANK YOU TO ALL!

American Super Cup Racing Series third race of the season takes us to our most northern track in Plover Wisconsin.  Most drivers arrived on Sunday night for a pre-race BBQ and to watch the NASCAR race in Charlotte.  A BIG thank you to series sponsor Biggin’s for hosting the BBQ and supplying all drivers with a package of awesome taters to take home to start off the summer.  Drivers exchanged barbs about past races and plans for the upcoming season before retiring for the evening.

On Monday morning drivers were greeted by temperatures in the mid 50’s and overcast sky – but no rain! Qualifying on the slightly banked smooth 1/3 mile track went well for local driver Joel Schulz who had the pole until a ride height issue.  Erle Hoth then knocked off the fast time followed by Ken Jones, and Brian Baldyga.

In the first 10 lap heat race Dave Cerer had the lead until Ken Jones slipped under Dave. Mick Ellis followed in Ken’s tracks moving Dave back to the third position. Heat one finished Ken, Mick, Dave, local driver Joel and fellow Wisconsin driver Derrick LeGros. The second heat saw the #33 of Andy Forster lead a good portion of the race until Erle made a pass near the end of the race.  Erle took the lead with Brian on his bumper.  Andy finished third followed by Michigan native Greg Harlow and Michael Fredricks rounding out the top 5 of the second heat.

Moving to the 25 Lap Biggin’s feature race - Once again Dave Cerer led the field to the green flag. He was able to hold the low line for the first few laps while drivers behind him jockeyed for position and put on a great show for all the fan’s of Golden Sands Speedway.  Drivers were three wide at times and testing their skills.  After starting in the seventh position it was local driver Joel Schulz who made the move on the low side to gain the lead and develop a little lead while others battled behind again.  Brian Baldyga made a few good decisions and started to chase down Joel.  Near the end of the race Brian passed Joel on the outside to take the lead and the win. Top 5 finish results were Brian, Joel, Ken, Erle and Andy.  All of our rookies finished together.  Leading the rookie contenders was Greg Harlow, Michael Fredricks, Nick Le Gros, Derek Le Gros, and possible new rookie James Fredricks.

The American Super Cups Racing series will be off next week and will be getting ready for the next race on the flat track of Indianapolis Speedrome on June 8th. Stay up to date with americansupercups.com or @AMSuperCups.

Once again we thank all of our service men and women and have a great week!

5/18/13: The American Super Cup Series  made its first trip of the young 2013 race season to Rockford Speedway this past Saturday night. With great weather and a great crowd, the ASCS delivered great racing action for the Grayslake Sign-A-Rama 25.

In heat race #1, veterans David Cerer #7 and Ken Jones #3 battled for the lead, with David taking his second heat race win of the year. In heat race #2, Andy Forster #33 held the lead until Top Qualifier #22 Erle Hoth came from the back of the pack and made the late pass for the win.

Under the lights for the Feature Race it was #00 Steve Wilson leading the pack to the green but #31 Mick Ellis jumped out to the early lead, pulling 2012 Series Champion Ken Jones #3 right behind. For awhile it looked like they would break away, but again Erle Hoth came from deep in the pack to challenge for the lead. While Hoth, Ellis, and Jones battled up front, it gave Cerer, #4 Brian Baldyga, Wilson and Forster a chance to catch up. The bunched up side-by-side pack traded paint, donuts and wall scrapes, but the talented drivers managed to keep the race caution free. With only a few laps to go, Erle Hoth showed why he was the E3 Spark Plugs Top Qualifier, made the pass for the lead, and held on for the win. Jones finished second and Cerer third. David Cerer goes on to take the Championship point lead, while Derek LeGros is the Rookie of the Year leader.

It’s a quick turnaround as the ASCS heads far north to Golden Sands Speedway for the Biggins 25 Memorial Day race weekend, including pre-race BBQ. Races start 3pm on Monday, see you there!

5/5/13: The American Super Cup Series opened the 2013 racing season at Slinger Super Speedway this Sunday with a wonderful day provided by both Mother Nature and E3 Spark Plugs. The competitive qualifying started with Erle Hoth taking top honors followed closely by David Cerer and Brian Baldyga.

In the first heat race, the front row of Greg Davis and Steve Wilson paced the field. David Cerer was able to find some room on the high side of the track and make the jump into the lead after a few laps. David was able to hold off the cars of Wilson, Davis, Mick Ellis and Michigan native Greg Harlow for the win on the ¼ mile track.  Sigi Knappik and Michael Fredricks also made their first starts in a super cup, finishing 6th and 7th respectively.

The second heat was a highly contested battle between veterans making quick decisions at the end of the race with lapped traffic. Brian led for a good portion of the race, however on the last lap 2012 Champion Ken Jones made the decision to stay low and capture his first win of the 2013 Season.  Baldyga, and Andy Forster finished ahead of the father and son racing team of Derek and Nick LeGros.

The ASCS E3 Spark plugs feature race highlighted the most competitive Super Cup racing in the country. From the drop of the green flag until the checkers, the close racing showcased the skill these drivers have.  Our field was inverted a deep nine positions, creating some awesome racing.  In the end, it was the speed demon Brian Baldyga’s black Chevy taking the win, followed by Hoth and Cerer. Steve Wilson picked up his best career finish in 5th, while Greg Harlow was the top finishing rookie in 9th.

Congratulations to all the drivers and series for a great start and hope to see everyone at the next race.  Rockford Speedway – Saturday, May 18, 2013 – Race time 7:07. Tune into www.americansupercups.com and look us up on facebook or twitter @amsupercups for more up to the date information on racing and upcoming events. 1/30/13: The country's premier traveling Super Cup Racing Series located in the Midwest - American Super Cup Racing Series is proud and excited to present the tracks for the most challenging Super Cup racing schedule in 2013

Track’s Summary - 2013 tracks give us the opportunity to put the cars out in front of the largest racing crowds over this summer. We are scheduled to race at 6 different historic tracks over this summer primarily on Saturday Nights.

Indiana - Once again, we at the always challenging flat track of the Indianapolis Speedrome.  In the 2012 August race the pack of cars ran 25 laps in the feature nose to tail door to door. The fans are always packed in and treated to some great side by side racing.

Wisconsin - Driver and fan favorite is the 33 degree high backs of Slinger Speedway. This is the Bristol track for the Super Cup cars. With the high banks of Slinger Speedway allowing drivers to choose a line that allows for passing and side by side racing.

After a few years of not heading into the north woods of Wisconsin , we went back to Golden Sands Speedway 2012 for an exciting conclusion to the Memorial Day weekend. The fans and track really enjoyed the racing, same for the drivers.  With the smoothness and width of the track made for some great racing and new challenges for all.  We are returning in 2013.  This track really packs them in for Memorial Day. Get there early!

Last year we made our first ever trip to Rockford ’s sister track - Lacrosse Speedway.  This quarter mile flat track presented many challenges to all the drivers.  This track has many characteristics that typically spreads the field out making passing a little easier if you can find the correct entry into the corners.  The fans fill this track up.  Fans mobbed the cars after the race was over wanting to find out more about our racing and the cars.  Really a fun night!

This next track offers a great weekend of fun. With all of the activities, you can also catch a race at Dell’s Raceway Park .  This is a great facility.  Drivers like the smooth, slightly banked track, which makes for great racing.  Drivers and fans appreciate the grounds and racing atmosphere. Many renovations have taken place over the past few years and made this back to a premier track in the Midwest .

Illinois - We also return to our series home track of Rockford Speedway. Rockford is the Darlington track for Super cup cars.  Most drivers run the outside track close to the wall while a few drivers gamble to make the low line pass for position.  Always a crowd pleaser and fast track join us at Rockford Speedway this summer.

All these tracks do a great job of putting on spectacular races.  We feel safe and welcome the unique challenges each track represents to the drivers.  We are proud to work with these tracks and look forward to another successful season.

Make a date to come join us as a driver and a fan in 2013.  Check back on the website for schedule and more updates.
